Tai Chi

I drove past a man everyday for about 2 years practicing Tai Chi in our local park. He used to look so graceful and the movements looked so smooth. I had no idea what he was doing and never met him. It was only some years ago that I worked out that he was doing Tai Chi. I recognized some of the movements  while watching a TV programme.

Tai Chi is an ancient form of meditative exercise which originated in China and it is easily recognized by its slow, captivating movements. Originally, Tai Chi was developed as a martial art but it evolved over many years into an activity practiced to improve and maintain good health. Read the rest of this entry »

Numerology and your address

One of the first things I learnt about numerology was that you could check what number your address adds up to.

It’s a handy tool. Let me explain. Read the rest of this entry »

The Way we Communicate

I woke up this morning and did what I do every morning. Meditate. But that meditation was interrupted. I realized that most of the time, most people just talk – about what they want, what they think, how they feel, where they are going and what they are doing. In between talking about themselves, they may remember to talk or ask about their partner, their family and their pets. Actually, the sad thing is that a lot of  people prefer to talk about their pets rather than talk about their family. My irritation though is not about people talking, it’s about people listening. The Fool

The Fool

This is the first card in the Major Arcana. You will note that the number starts at 0 and not 1.

Description: The Fool card signifies spontaneity in it’s purest form. It is the carefree youth, the headlong rush of immaturity with little thought for the consequences and the sheer optimism of belief combined.

Divintaion: A new journey of either a physical, spiritual or mental nature. It is a time of new beginnings and adventures. It is also a good time to invest. Be cautioned by the immature and foolish component to this card - so check and double-check every thing you do, ask for advice. If you are a serious person or weighed down by troubles, try lightening up a little. The bag on the Fool’s shoulder is a message that you have unknown talents.

Key Words: New Beginnings, Immaturity, Innocence, Carefree, Unknown, Possibilities, Spontaneity.

Creative Ideas

People seem to have the misconception that only a select few of us are able to unleash a steady flow of creative genius. That is not true at all. The fact is, creativity is very much like a muscle that needs to be exercised in order to consistently give out great results. If you don’t practice harnessing creative thinking, this skill will very much atrophy into inexistence. But keep working and this skill will soon come to you in a snap.

So how do you unleash your creative thinking? Well, the first thing is take notice of people and things around you. I am not saying that you should take in as much knowledge and learning you can find, or read everything available — good and bad, Just keep your mind open to the infinite possibilities of the universe. The more you know, the more you’ll want to know, and the more your faculty of wonder will be exercised. Prepare to be amazed at little facts that add a bit of color into your life. Unlock your Self-improvement power

When we look at a certain object, a painting for example – we won’t be able to appreciate what’s in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we’ll have a clearer vision of the whole art work.

unlock1We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don’t see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything got worst. Take the frog principle for example -

Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment – the water’s temperature. Then try Frog B: place him in a luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait til the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks “Ooh… it’s a bit warm in here”. Candle Magic

One of the simplest of magical arts which comes under the heading of natural magic is candle burning. It is simple because it employs little ritual and few ceremonial artifacts. The theatrical props of candle magic can be purchased at any department store and its rituals can be practiced anywhere – indoors or out.

candle1

Most of us have performed our first act of candle magic by the time we are two years old. Blowing out the tiny candles on our first birthday cake and making a wish is pure magic. This childhood custom is based on three magical principals; concentration, will power and visualization. In simple terms, the child who wants his wish to come true has to concentrate (blow out the candles), visualize the end result (make a wish) and hope that it will come true (will power).
