Monday Motivation – 15 March 2010

Get out of bed a little earlier (half an hour if you can)just one day this week – try getting up early one day every week actually. Use the time to do something that you don’t always get the chance to do – BUT, it must be something just for you….
Something that feels good… Something that you have been putting off…. Something that will motivate you once completed…
- Take a warm, fragranced, candle-lit bath; even in the morning
- Have your morning cup of tea or coffee while sitting quietly
- Swap out the time you gained in the morning by going to bed a little earlier
- Catch up on an outstanding task – admin, mending, clearing out a cupboard
- Clean the mirrors in your house
- Sort out your stationery drawer
- Tidy up your herbs, sauces and groceries
- Spend some time playing with your pets, scratch their ears and tell them you love them

Is 33 a Master Number?
Some time ago, I received a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) about the number 33. I have received the same FAQ twice this week, so I thought I’d post my reply to the original FAQ.
“My birthday is 4-17-1965. If you add up these core numbers it comes to a 33. Is this a master number? Or should these two numbers be added to get a 6?”
Hi Michael
Your question is an interesting one and touches on some of the basic principles of numerology. Numerology in one form or another can be found all over the world. There are several systems fom Ki, which is an ancient Japanese system based upon numerology patterns in the birthdate, the Kabbalah and the more prevelant Chaldean and Pythagorean systems used in the west. Part of Pythagorean Numerology’s popularity arises from the fact that it is easy to learn how to translate numbers and master their meanings. It was created by the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, who was born around 590 BC. Like Chaldean numerology, Pythagorean numerology analyzes both the name and date of birth, and the interaction between the two. However, unlike Chaldean numerology, the numerology numbers are assigned to letters in sequence. It uses the numbers 1-9. The numbers 11 (Master Teacher) and 22 (Master Builder) are considered to be master vibrations and are not reduced. Some of the other systems include 33 and 44, but the Pythagorean system stops at 22 so 33 is not a master number according to this system and therefore should be reduced. A full numerology report would provide you with more information.
The life path numbers 11 and 22 can be reduced to a 2 or 4 respectively although the description would not be completely accurate. Even though you may not personally wish to reduce your 33 to a 6, you could read the number 6 profile in my blog for some insight, but I have prepared a short personal profile below for you. Tarot Interpreted – Numerological Vibrations
The numbers on the faces of Tarot cards reflects stages of development and evolution. When interpreting the numbers on Minor Arcana cards, you also need to consider the suit of the card/s as the suit will tell you which area of life is affected or involved. The numbers are closely aligned to numerology. The following is a summary and should be considered a general guideline.
| Ace (one) | One signifies new beginnings; the starting point of a new cycle or the manifestation of a wish/desire and represents self-development, creativity, progress, or a fresh new start. |
| Two | This number depicts a union or partnership – the balance of polarity between energies, yin and yang, male and female, separate and together, etc and affirms the new opportunity / beginning initiated by the Ace. |
| Three | The Three expresses the trinity of Mind, Body and Spirit. Number three represents self-expression, communication and optimism. This number illustrates and expands on the information provided by One and Two. |
| Four | Number four is synonymous with a foundation and therefore balance, security and stability. The number four is representative of hard work and discipline – just like in numerology. |
| Five | Five is the number of freedom, adventure, instability or change and vibrates to action, impulsiveness and impatience. The number suggests excitement and challenges. |

Dvar for Vayakhel/Pekudei (Exodus 35:1-40:38)
Parshat Vayakhel explains that the frame of the Tabernacle was constructed of “shittim wood, standing.” The talmud offers several explanations of this phrase. The first and simplest is that it refers to the orientation of the planks used in the construction; they should be vertical rather than horizontal. Another interpretation is that “standing” means that they are standing to this very day – the Tabernacle has been hidden away, but has not been destroyed. R’
Baruch Simon cites a number of sources who contrast this to the Temple, which was burned to the ground. Why will the Tabernacle stand forever while the Temple has been destroyed?
R’ Baruch Simon explains that the Temple was largely constructed by the hired labor of Tyrean craftsmen who were working for money, not for the sake of the task itself. Their hearts weren’t truly in it.
However, the Tabernacle was built by Jews themselves, out of commitment and love of G-d. Our accomplishments are most likely to endure when they are done in this fashion, with dedication and for their own sake.
