Brainpower = limitless potential for learning, memory and creativity
Have you ever wondered how other “more intelligent/creative/brilliant” people think? How did Einstein think or Aristotle devised his theories, how did Michelangelo visualize his work and how did Beethoven figure out what to compose?
How do some people unlock their potential while others just don’t?
By its very design, the human brain has limitless potential for learning, memory and creativity. The brain needs to be used and exercised in order to make best use of its potential. We each need to explore the power of thought on our own.
Several strategies can be used to assist in exploring your brain power.
- Expand your perspective: many peoples rely on their own perspective – they tap into what they know and so have a narrow view of the world. Try to look at a problem from different angles. Leonardo da Vinci believed that, to gain knowledge about the form of a problem, you must begin by learning how to restructure it in many different ways. He believed that the first way you look at a problem is entirely too biased. You are only seeing the problem from your perspective. By looking at a problem from different points of view, the problem is then restated and a solution can be discovered. Actively look for solutions.
- Be curious - ask questions: Don’t ever stop asking questions. Without questions, we cannot grow. As we get older, we become too busy, submissive or just lazy so we stop asking questions which stops learning. We need to continuously embrace our imagination and re-ignite curiosity
- Visualize!: The ability to visualize will improve creativity. Einstein said that all of his most important and productive thinking was done by “combinatory play” with “images” in his mind. Einstein used images, visual patterns and associations to discover more about the world around him. He was often found using diagrams in order to restate the problem and approach it in a number of different ways. Einstein believed that the spirit of learning and creative thought were lost in strict rote learning. Instead, he turned to his own imagination and visualization. Visualization is an incredibly powerful tool in solving problems. Often times much more powerful that simply using words or numbers.
- Enjoy your life: Nobody achieves anything doing what they dislike or don’t get satisfaction from. Find things that inspire or excite you. The most successful people in life find work that inspires and excites them. When you are inspired by some great purpose, your thoughts expand in all directions and break all limits - you find yourself in a new world – you’ll find yourself to be more capable than you ever dreamed.
- Fix things in your life that need to be fixed: It’ll free you up to expand your thinking and learning.
- Bring balance into your life: Be healthy, exercise, relax, encourage happiness and acceptance. Love and let yourself be loved.
