Chakra Balancing Meditation
One of the difficulties of meditating by yourself or as a novice is not knowing whether you are doing the “right” thing or what the benefits should feel like. You may get to the end of the meditation wondering what all the fuss is about or feel irritated and stop without working your way through.
I would suggest that you work your way through this or any other meditation a few times just by reading it step by step and when you are familiar with the meditation, you will remember the process and can build up from the suggested minimum time of 10Â - 15 minutes to around double that. No need to do the follwoing meditation every day, but I’d suggest once a week specifically to balance your chakras. Read the rest of this entry »
Candle Magic – a silver candle
The color Silver is primarily associated with female deities. Silver or light grey candles are associated with clairvoyance, inspiration, astral energy, channelling, intuition, victory, stability, meditation, developing psychic ability, removal of negative power, repelling destruction, cancellation, neutrality, stalemate. Silver also represents the faculty of far memory and remembering past lives.
Communicating with our Angels and Guides
All of us hear from our Guides & Angels nearly every day. Some people may describe this as intuition, their vibes, a feeling etc. Learning to listen takes time and patience. Most of us are so busy with our lives that we often fail to recognise the help and advice we are constantly being given. We all have all have a sixth sense. I am a great fan of Sonia Choquette who puts it so nicely in her books – “we are six sensory beings, but only use five of our senses”. We are so bombarded every day through media, advertising and noise that we tune out 90% of what is thrown at us and along with this “tuning out” we neglect to listen to our inner spirit or Higher Self. I regularly tell clients to meditate, even if this means sitting quietly with a cup of tea or coffee each morning and taking some quiet time. During these times of self reflection if you call on your angels and guides they will answer. We all need to learn to hear their quiet voice which will come through as a thought or a feeling. There is a whole host of angels and guides to help us with whatever we need. You don’t need to be in a special place to get help. You can call on your angels and guides wherever you are. Most people who experience seeing an angel is in times of extreme need or danger. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to ask for assistance. You can ask constantly all day for help with anything from writing a letter to cooking a meal. We can have access to them and the information that they bring us whenever we wish.
Dalai Lama Meditation
A friend sent me this e-mail recently, (thank you Jan).
“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.”
Fake it till you Make it
There’s a saying that goes, “Some days you’re the bug and some days you’re the windshield”. When you feel like the bug, what’s the best way to make it through the tough times? Fake it till you make it, is what I say. Develop an affirmation or a mantra for yourself and say it whenever you feel anxious, insecure or stressed. The affirmation can be as simple as reminding yourself that “I am happy, healthy and loved” or even “I rock!”. Read the rest of this entry »
Grounding Yourself
Grounding is a term that one hears often these days. Basically it is a term that refers to doing something for yourself that will calm and settle you – something that will remind you of your connectedness to the Earth.
Below is a simple exercise to ground yourself. It may take a little while in the beginning, but with understanding and regular use, this exercise will only take a minute or two. Read the rest of this entry »
Tiger’s Eye
As one of the crystals that I reommend buying as part of a Starter Pack, I thought I’d post some basic information about the Tiger’s Eye crystal. The first crystal I ever owned was a Tiger’s Eye. I was about 11 years old when I bought a Tiger’s Eye while on a school tour. The crsytal accompanied me everywhere for many years.

General Information
The various spellings of the name Tiger Eye, Tigers Eye and Tiger’s Eye all refer to the same stone, which is occasionally listed as Cat’s Eye. Its chemical composition is summarized as a Silicate (Tectosilicates) which is a variation of Quartz.
Tiger’s Eye stones come in a few different colors. The most common colors are gold, blue and red.
The Tiger Eye crystal gives out ‘chi’ that encourages your passion for life to blossom and stimulates your willpower and the desire for success. Read the rest of this entry »
Crystal Starter Pack – The Pack
I have listed a few crystals below that I believe make up a basic starter pack. You do not need to purchase every crystal – look through the list and see what you would like. You can, of course, buy any combination of crystals and build on that as you go. If your interest is specifically in Chakras and crystals, then the list of starter crsytals would not  be the same. I will post a starter pack specifically for chakras. Read the rest of this entry »
