I have listed a few crystals below that I believe make up a basic starter pack. You do not need to purchase every crystal – look through the list and see what you would like. You can, of course, buy any combination of crystals and build on that as you go. If your interest is specifically in Chakras and crystals, then the list of starter crsytals would not  be the same. I will post a starter pack specifically for chakras.

Agate – Blue, grey, green, brown. These crystals are for good luck, protection, growth, stability, maturity.

Agate – blue lace. Use Blue lace agate for feminine energy and harmony.

Agate – moss. This crystal helps make new friends. Also for green fingers.

Amethyst. Amethyst is good for so many things; harmony, enlightenment, connection to spirit, wisdom, tolerance, meditation.

Carnelian – red, yellow, orange, brown. Use Carnelian for courage and action, to help you finish projects and for physical energy.

Citrine – yellow. Use Citrine to build confidence, as an anti-depressant, for mental clarity, dynamism, taking the initiative, good digestion.

Jasper. Buy red Jasper for courage, grounding, physical strength, sexual energy, honesty and speeding up energy. You can buy yellow Jasper (calmer) or green Jasper (more balanced) than red.

Lapis Lazuli. I discovered this crystal at a time in my life when I was really sad. It is great for wisdom, kindness, love, protection from negative energy, for peace and harmony.

Malachite. The dark green version is the crystal you want now. It is linked to prosperity, money, sensual appreciation, healing past hurts, stimulating dreams which reveal unconscious needs or wants.

Obsidian. Buy black obsidian for insight, grounding, protection and for dissolving pain. It is similar to Smoky Quartz, but trust me and buy both.

Peridot. Use green Peridot for mental, emotional and physical detox and for healing.

Quartz – clear. Clear Quartz is one of the most versatile crystals. You can use it to focus all kinds of energy and as a stand-in for another crystal.

Quartz – Rose. A soft and gentle crystal for love, self-love and self-healing.

Quartz – Smoky. Smoky quartz comes in pale grey to brown, any color can be used for grounding, protection against bad luck and dissolving pain.

Sodalite. I love Sodalite. You can use it for wisdom and insight, listening and speaking skills, organization and to counter harmful radiation.

Tiger’s Eye. The first crystal I ever bought, I loved the colors. You will use Tiger’s eye for many things, primarily for protection, grounding, trust, common sense, slowing your energy down (at the end of a busy day or when you are in distress). It is also good for when you are starting something new. Its grounding qualities will help you start with both feet on the ground.

Turquoise. A vivid blue, Turquoise is for protection on a journey, connection to spirit, mentally and spiritually uplifting. Historically Turquoise was used in amulets for protection against evil.
